Sky Is the Limit

A mixture of 2 photographs I took – one is a gloomy shot of the NYC skyline and the other is a simple shot of car lights at night creating a beautiful bokeh effect.  These blended together with a few textures to form an old school, retro photograph/poster.

Avenue of the Americas

A Palace for the People

A shot of Radio City Music Hall I took about 6 years ago now.  It almost looks like a time warp back into the 50’s or 60’s.  It was a cold, windy February day in the NYC.

Shots in the Life Of

JP33 Random Photography

This is a look at some of the photographs I’ve taken in the past year.  I shoot with a Nikon D90 and mostly use a 50mm 1.8. Occasionally I throw my kit lens on to get a wide shot.

I’ve gone back and forth with different styles, but I tend to lean towards a black and white, darker processing style.

When the 3 Hits the 2…

...and it over takes you.

A photo taken during one of the few snow falls in Dallas winters.  Normally there are 3-4 snow falls per winter season so taking advantage of the beautiful snow is a must.

The Traveling, Wandering, Waves of Sub-Zero

Another snow shot…really, REALLY, missing it.  Doesn’t happen but a few times per year in Dallas.  Good news though, the forecast for later this weeks is for low’s of 24, 16 and 17 degrees…supposed to snow 2 of those days as well.

Reflection of A Man – Stanley Marcus

i picked this book up the other day – a diary of photos one might call it – by the legendary marketer, stanley marcus (of neiman marcus)
it’s filled with wonderful photos of every day life…a small glimpse into his mind, if you will.  i highly suggest picking it up if you’re a photography fan.

credit goes to stanley’s daughter jerrie marcus smith and granddaughter allison v. smith for putting the project together.  allison happens to be an amazing photographer herself and a flickr friend of mine.  check her work out here and here

Neiman Marcus Insite

Neiman Marcus Insite is what takes up most of my working hours during the day.  I handle the graphic direction, design and Flash animations/interaction.  New issues drop every 2 weeks – between meetings and all the other corporate nuances throughout the day there isn’t a ton of time to finish each issue.  Sometimes it’s a blast and other times it’s a struggle to finish, although not enough to complain about.
